Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No ads, no subscription, no account, no paid tier. It is open source under the Apache License 2.0, so you can read every line of it - or build it yourself.

Does my conversation ever leave the phone?

No. There is no server to send it to. The only thing the app downloads is the model file itself, from Hugging Face. After that you can switch on airplane mode and it keeps working.

Which model should I start with?

Qwen2.5 0.5B Instruct - about 469 MB, and it runs on almost any phone. Bigger models answer better but need more memory, so work upwards from there.

How much storage does it need?

The app is small; the models are not. They range from roughly 105 MB to about 2 GB each. Keep as many as you like and delete any of them from inside the app.

Can it look at photos?

Yes, with a vision model. Pick one from the library, then attach a photo or take one. The image is processed on the device like everything else.

Why is there no iPhone version yet?

The app is built for both, but publishing to the App Store needs a paid Apple Developer account. Help sponsor it →
